Product Details

D. MOORE, USA
A .32 (RIMFIRE) SEVEN-SHOT BELT-REVOLVER, MODEL 'MOORE'S PATENT', serial no. 2755,
made between 1861 - 63, with re-finished 6in. octagonal barrel signed on the top-flat 'D. MOORE PATENT SEPT 18. 1860', bead fore-sight, rear-sight notch to the hammer nose, plain re-blued cylinder, brass border and scroll engraved frame with traces of silver plating, the rear of recoil shield with catch allowing the sideways turning of the barrel and cylinder for loading, smooth walnut grip and guarded trigger, under-barrel ejector rod

Other Notes: Initially incredibly successful, with a fair number being bought by Union officers and men during the Civil War as a viable alternative to the Smith & Wesson No2, the design was soon ended by Smith & Wesson over infringement of the Rollin-White patent.
